2. Do extensive research by visiting the websites of the schools, before concluding on your target B-schools.

3. If possible, talk or communicate some pass outs from these schools. This may be very useful.

4. Check out on location as well, if you consider that as an important factor for your admission.

5. Check out on Industry tie-up or affiliation with the school (Important because, you may go there during the course for your internship or may be for placement.)

6. Do not be only concerned about its ranking; be particular about the course availability that you want and its position in that category.

8. Be clear about your career goals?

9. Question yourself, why you should get selected in that school?

10. Work hard for your GMAT and GPA scores, because these are crucial, particularly if you are trying for the best B-school.

11. While your GMAT and GPA play important role, your academic career is also considered, so planning should be started right at the school level not only at your graduation level.

12. Students from IITs are definitely preferred, but that does not mean others have lesser chance of selection.

13. Extra-curricular activities also play in the final selection.
